In their independent activities, children will then look more closely at the characters of Mr and Mrs Twit, and write descriptions or answer questions using their retrieval and deduction skills. Alternatively, children draw a picture of one of the Twits characters based on the text, and surround it with descriptive words and phrases chosen from the text.

Your class will demonstrate their understanding of the main events by answering comprehension questions, before discussing the 'dos and don'ts' of writing a summary.
