Fractions in Action

This series of Year 3 'Fractions in Action' lessons will help your class to understand what fractions are and how to use them. With an initial focus on understanding eighths, quarters and halves, and how they relate to each other, your class will then be able to use their knowledge to solve a variety of problems relating to fractions, such as adding and subtracting fractions, ordering fractions and finding fractions of numbers.

Eighths

There is also the chance to show off their skills at finding equivalent fractions by finding equivalent addition and subtraction statements.
